Cette dualit\u00e9, h\u00e9rit\u00e9e de l&rsquo;histoire coloniale et des rapports de classe, fa\u00e7onne les dynamiques \u00e9ducatives et sociales du pays. Bien que le cr\u00e9ole soit la langue maternelle de 100 % des Ha\u00eftiens, son exclusion prolong\u00e9e des sph\u00e8res formelles, notamment de l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation, a engendr\u00e9 un analphab\u00e9tisme structurel et une fracture sociale profonde. Les r\u00e9formes p\u00e9dagogiques initi\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de 1975, visant \u00e0 int\u00e9grer le cr\u00e9ole comme langue d&rsquo;enseignement, repr\u00e9sentent une tentative de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces d\u00e9fis tout en r\u00e9\u00e9valuant le r\u00f4le du fran\u00e7ais dans un contexte postcolonial (Bentollia et Gani, 1981).   <\/p>\n<p>Le syst\u00e8me \u00e9ducatif ha\u00eftien, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1970, reposait exclusivement sur le fran\u00e7ais, une langue ma\u00eetris\u00e9e par moins de 3 % de la population. Cette approche excluait de facto la majorit\u00e9 monolingue cr\u00e9ole, contribuant \u00e0 des taux d&rsquo;\u00e9chec scolaire \u00e9lev\u00e9s et \u00e0 un analphab\u00e9tisme atteignant 75 % chez les adultes. Les premi\u00e8res exp\u00e9riences d&rsquo;alphab\u00e9tisation en cr\u00e9ole, men\u00e9es dans les zones rurales comme les C\u00f4tes-de-Fer, ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que l&rsquo;utilisation de la langue maternelle facilitait l&rsquo;acquisition de comp\u00e9tences de base en lecture, \u00e9criture et calcul. Ces initiatives, soutenues par l&rsquo;Office National d&rsquo;Alphab\u00e9tisation et d&rsquo;Action Communautaire (ONAAC), ont ouvert la voie \u00e0 une r\u00e9forme plus ambitieuse. En 1979, une loi institutionnalisa le cr\u00e9ole comme langue d&rsquo;enseignement durant les premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es du primaire, tout en r\u00e9affirmant le fran\u00e7ais comme outil compl\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 partir de la quatri\u00e8me ann\u00e9e (Bentollia et Gani, 1981). Cette transition progressive visait \u00e0 concilier l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s d\u00e9mocratique \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation et la pr\u00e9servation d&rsquo;une ouverture linguistique vers le fran\u00e7ais, per\u00e7u comme vecteur de mobilit\u00e9 sociale et de connexion internationale.     <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;introduction du cr\u00e9ole dans les salles de classe s&rsquo;accompagne de d\u00e9fis m\u00e9thodologiques et culturels. L&rsquo;\u00e9laboration d&rsquo;une graphie standardis\u00e9e, fond\u00e9e sur une correspondance phon\u00e9tique rigoureuse, a suscit\u00e9 des d\u00e9bats entre partisans d&rsquo;une orthographe \u00e9tymologique inspir\u00e9e du fran\u00e7ais et d\u00e9fenseurs d&rsquo;un syst\u00e8me autonome. Le choix final, privil\u00e9giant la simplicit\u00e9 et l&rsquo;accessibilit\u00e9, refl\u00e8te une volont\u00e9 de rompre avec les hi\u00e9rarchies linguistiques tout en \u00e9vitant une rupture brutale avec le fran\u00e7ais. Par ailleurs, la cr\u00e9ation de contenus p\u00e9dagogiques adapt\u00e9s aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s locales s&rsquo;av\u00e8re essentielle. Les manuels traduits du fran\u00e7ais, inadapt\u00e9s aux sch\u00e9mas cognitifs et culturels des \u00e9l\u00e8ves, ont c\u00e9d\u00e9 la place \u00e0 des mat\u00e9riels didactiques con\u00e7us sp\u00e9cifiquement pour valoriser l&rsquo;identit\u00e9 ha\u00eftienne. Cette d\u00e9marche, port\u00e9e par l&rsquo;Institut P\u00e9dagogique National, souligne l&rsquo;importance d&rsquo;ancrer l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation dans le v\u00e9cu des apprenants pour favoriser l&rsquo;appropriation des savoirs (Bentollia et Gani, 1981).     <\/p>\n<p>La diglossie ha\u00eftienne, marqu\u00e9e par une r\u00e9partition fonctionnelle des langues, influence \u00e9galement les strat\u00e9gies \u00e9ducatives. Si le cr\u00e9ole domine les interactions quotidiennes, le fran\u00e7ais conserve un r\u00f4le symbolique dans les contextes formels et hi\u00e9rarchiques. Les r\u00e9formes cherchent \u00e0 transformer cette relation en promouvant un bilinguisme compl\u00e9mentaire plut\u00f4t que concurrentiel. Le fran\u00e7ais, lib\u00e9r\u00e9 de sa fonction de marqueur social, pourrait ainsi \u00e9voluer vers un outil technique et professionnel, notamment dans l&rsquo;enseignement sup\u00e9rieur et les fili\u00e8res sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es. Cette perspective suppose toutefois une refonte des programmes pour aligner l&rsquo;apprentissage du fran\u00e7ais sur des besoins concrets, tels que la ma\u00eetrise de l&rsquo;\u00e9crit technique ou l&rsquo;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des ressources scientifiques. Certaines franges de la bourgeoisie per\u00e7oivent l&rsquo;introduction du cr\u00e9ole comme une menace pour leur statut, tandis que d&rsquo;autres craignent un isolement linguistique. Ces appr\u00e9hensions, souvent nourries par des int\u00e9r\u00eats politiques ou \u00e9conomiques externes, n\u00e9gligent le potentiel du cr\u00e9ole \u00e0 renforcer l&rsquo;unit\u00e9 nationale et \u00e0 servir de levier pour un d\u00e9veloppement endog\u00e8ne. L&rsquo;enjeu d\u00e9passe la simple question linguistique : il s&rsquo;agit de repenser l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation comme un instrument d&rsquo;\u00e9mancipation collective, capable de concilier h\u00e9ritage culturel et aspirations contemporaines. Les recherches men\u00e9es en Ha\u00efti soulignent ainsi la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une approche holistique, int\u00e9grant formation des enseignants, adaptation des curricula et collaboration avec les communaut\u00e9s locales (Bentollia et Gani, 1981).    <\/p>\n<p>En d\u00e9finitive, l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience ha\u00eftienne offre un cadre de r\u00e9flexion pr\u00e9cieux pour les pays confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis linguistiques similaires. Elle met en lumi\u00e8re l&rsquo;importance de valoriser les langues maternelles sans renoncer aux avantages d&rsquo;une langue internationale comme le fran\u00e7ais. Cette compl\u00e9mentarit\u00e9, loin d&rsquo;\u00eatre contradictoire, pourrait servir de mod\u00e8le pour des syst\u00e8mes \u00e9ducatifs inclusifs, o\u00f9 la diversit\u00e9 linguistique devient un atout plut\u00f4t qu&rsquo;un obstacle.
