Process
Assignment and profiling
Once a project is confirmed with a client. The project manager creates a working file (s) via a Cat Tool (mostly Trados or MemoQ) and assigns the project to a specific translator. He/she is there to give instructions, sets deadlines, and receive feedbacks.
Translation
The translation is the second step where the linguist has the working file (s) and proceeds with the translation, in accordance with the given instructions and/or the client style guide.
Editing and Proofing
The third step is when the project is ready to be reviewed by a second linguist who makes sure that the document has been correctly translated, that there are no spelling errors or typos, that terminologies are appropriate and consistent throughout the text.
Desktop Publishing (DTP)
There may be a fourth step which is formatting (Desktop Publishing) where a graphic designer and / or the project manager renders the translated document to the same or almost the same form of the original document (In some cases, this fourth step may be subject to an additional fees)
Quality Assurance Check
We can also have a post-formatting review, Post Desktop Publishing review (Sign off) to ensure that spelling mistakes and typos did not creep in
Client Review
The client can come back to the finished work, they can share their feedback. All of this will be reconciled and taken into account at no additional cost.
